Sauce Magazine lauds Main & Mill Brewing as one of the Best-Kept Secrets in St. Louis Beer. And, they don’t even brew within city limits!

Folks regularly trek out to rural Festus, MO just to indulge in Main & Mill’s delectable creations on draft. They know getting their hands on an actual can or bottle from these small-town brewmasters is next to impossible!

The last time Main & Mill released a new brew, 400+ eager fans were outside their doors by 5am!

Lucky for you, we pulled some strings and reserved a tiny 40 case stash of today’s Tropical Smoothie Sour ahead of time, just for Tavour members.

This Smoothie-style Sour Ale is one juicy treat, indeed. The brewers load the tart confection with roughly 1,000 lbs of fresh pineapple and mango per batch! Then, they douse it with a hefty 125 lbs of toasted coconut, and some lactose, adding a layer of creamy complexity to every sip.

Just grab it quick — once it's gone, not even joining the brewery’s Mug Club will help you get your hands on it!

Slightly better than the 903’s Hurricane, the lactose and coconut finish was spot on to give the smoothie consistency. I Liked the pineapple notes, but it was more OJ than it was Tropical, and the name does say Tropical Smoothie. Pretty overwhelmed by the OJ flavor and not enough tropical flavors to bring out that island vibe.

Not sure if it was my beer or not but it’s tasted off and was a drain pour. Bought a second so we’ll see.

Very flat. More like a juice than a carbonated beer. Quite flavorful and I got all the described fruits. Would buy again.

Tropical, juicy, creamy, coconut. Not a bad combo and doesn’t seem like lactose is overused as there is still a good tartness here
