A Note on This Beer

To make today’s illustrious mixed culture Saison, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales wasn’t shy with adding red wine complexity — they packed 2 pounds of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir grapes into every gallon!

And, you likely won’t get an opportunity to try The 2 Rivers Noir anywhere else. Aside from one small batch in the taproom, Logsdon’s entire stash of this blended, delicious delicacy is right here!

The luscious fruit gives off notes of ripe red berries and currants, backed with a quenching acidity. Hints of black pepper and clove take the stage before landing on an earthy, floral finish.

If you’re unfamiliar with Willamette Valley grapes, they’re responsible for Oregon’s fine wines! And now, thanks to Logsdon, they also make one heck of a fine beer.

You can be one of the only folks in the world to try this Saison as big and bold as the red wine grapes they were blended with!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Logsdon Farmhouse Ales is certified independent by the Brewers Association

Super funky farmhouse ale made with pinot noir grapes. Tasted more like a sour ale than a saison, with mouth-numbing brettanomyces. I wish I had a picture of it in the glass, it looked like a sparkling rosé. Not a “session beer,” or very food friendly, at least not with a red sauce.

Pinot was spot on. Well built tart Saison with Brett. Loved this one. Bought 2, should have maxed out!

so crisp, so light, and yet still provides a nice sweet flavor at the end.

Took a couple sips then decided I couldn’t do the rest. A shame

Good Pinot aromas. Not nearly enough Saison/farmhouse notes in this beer. It has great farmhouse ale type carbonation, with a nice sourness from the Bret, but overall very heavy on the wine aspect. It finishes heavily on lees flavors and cleanly like a sparkling Rosé. If you are trying to get wine drinkers into beer, this is a good starting point, but not necessarily a good marriage of both.

A perfect amount of sour and fruit highlight this farmhouse style.

Very interesting. Love the aroma. A bit overwhelming at first, but grows on you and can definitely pick up the Pinot

Tastes like it was aged in a Camels Hump for 9 months in the Sahara!

Fruity and oaky. Tastes more like cherry than grapes. Ate some peanut butter filled pretzels with this beer and it reminded me of PB&J. Split the bottle with my wife but wound up finishing hers because she said it had a medicine aftertaste, but I didn’t detect it as much.

my fault for not realizing a farmhouse ale is similar to a sour style ale, thought it would be richer flavored, but it’s Pinot noir grapes, not Pinot noir wine- big difference. Still fruity and flavorful if you like this style ale, nice for a hot summer day.

solid wine mix and balance between floral and sour but leaves an off putting after taste of half beer half wine
