A Note on This Beer

Today’s scintillating Barrel-Aged Sour won’t apologize for being fabulous, and it doesn’t need to — each juicy sip struts across the tongue like models down a red carpet!

To craft Unapologetic Fruit: Cherry Apricot, Brewery Vivant blended a Farmhouse Ale with a Barrel-Aged Sour, then allowed it to rest on locally grown apricots and tart Montmorency cherries.

It opens with lavish aromas of apricot and cherry, followed by extravagant flavors of woodsy oak and barnyard funk. Each opulent sip tickles the tongue with bright effervescence, finishing tangy, sweet, and irresistible.

If you’re familiar with these craft connoisseurs, you know their Sours combine the fruit-forward taste that fans love with classic European brewing styles. The result is nuanced and delicious, with sophisticated barrel character.

Normally, you can’t get a hold of Brewery Vivant’s vibrant ales outside of Michigan. But today, we have a few cans for you right here. So, go ahead — crack open the tab on Cherry Apricot, and get ready to feel unapologetically awesome.

Brewery Vivant is the world’s first LEED certified microbrewery and won a Good Food Award for responsible sourcing of beer!

It’s great for a drink. Not bad at all. Tastes more like a mixed drink but it does taste good.

This beer was very similar in style to a Lindemans Belgian lambic. Not tart in the slightest, remote characteristics to beer in any traditional sense. I hadn’t read the description in detail before trying. I was set to expect a pulpy thawed out Bellini style beverage that I wouldn’t be able to finish. It’s actually filtered so clear, fairly moderately sweet lambic with a bit of carbonation. Could pass as a Lindemans beer or cider

Easy to drink, crushable hot weather beer, hits more on the apricot for a refreshing taste and ends with very little hop or sour notes

Very smooth and drinkable. Mouth-feel is very reminiscent of actually eating a fresh juicy peach right out of the market, and some tart notes of cherry temper it on the way down. If I could buy this at the store, it'd be fantastic. As it is, maybe not worth waiting another month and a half to have shipped to my house.

The first one I drank out of the can. All I could taste was apricot, then towards the end I came across the cherry. 2nd can (another day) poured into a glass. All I could taste was cherry. Either way, I enjoyed the flavors. Refreshing on a hot day. It felt more like having a glass of Moscato than a beer. I would definitely get it again.

Not very sour but you definitely get the cherry on the front end and apricot on the swallow. I really think this a good beer Changing my review after second one. I really enjoyed this beer and would get it again

No major off flavors, but sweet with a syrupy mouthfeel. Cloying for a sour or farmhouse ale. Fruit character comes off stale, could have endured some temperature abuse during shipping though.

it was decent to drink, but didn’t get much cherry or apricot - just sour. Also had a bit of debris at the bottom of the can, which I had hope was cherry pulp but instead was just waxy and flavorless.

Not to shabby! it’s a bit tart but not overpowering. More apricot then cherry. Had another variant of this and liked it more but still pretty good, would continue to check out this series from them
