A Note on This Beer
When the heat of summer rolls in, I start dreaming of the days when my grandma brewed up her homemade peach lemonade in vat-sized batches.
Sadly, it’s been ages since I dipped into that sunny-weather drink. But, Vernal Blossom from Urban Family has got to be the next best thing!
To make this quaffable summertime treat, Seattle’s Sour Ale masters at Urban Family began with a blend of Golden Sour Ales that they aged for nearly 2 years in red wine barrels. Then, they loaded it with “copious amounts” of fresh, Washington-grown peaches and nectarines for all the tart, fruit-juiciness of granny’s good stuff!
Vernal Blossom blooms with subtle floral notes that complement its pungent stone fruit sweetness and mouth-puckering tartness. Its dry, vinous complexity from the red wine barrels helps make it into one seriously elegant summer sipper.
And, since there are only 60 cases of today’s sunny delight in existence, you’ll probably feel that much more swanky as one of the privileged few to taste it.
