A Note on This Beer
It’s always a special treat to taste a beer made with yuzu!
This cute, yellow fruit is incredibly fragrant — slice one open, and it smells like you’re walking through a lemon grove. Squeeze a little juice out, and the taste is crazy tart, like juicing a whole basket full of citrus!
Although, you’d have to travel to Japan, Korea, or China to find one. Or, let Commonwealth Brewing Co. bring those lip-puckering yuzu flavors to you, in the form of today’s crisp, refreshing Gose.
They crafted Villuminati with Bangkok Green Tea, along with the zest, juice, and the purée of that exotic citrus fruit. It’s delightfully effervescent, like sparkling green tea with a splash of lemon. Lactose adds a slight creaminess to the mouthfeel, and you’ll taste hints of invigorating lemongrass, spicy ginger, creamy coconut, and a whisper of vanilla on the finish.
Craft fan @Jeremy J. calls it “super smooth, like drinking candy” and @Laura B. says it’s “one of my favorite beers.”
It’s definitely got us paying attention! Thanks to innovative brews like this, the local culture experts at Hoodline.com hail Commonwealth as the #1 Brewery in the State! In beer-soaked Virginia, that’s a pretty big deal.
So go ahead — bring a few cans to your next backyard BBQ, and impress your buddies with this thirst-quenching beer! Just heed the words of @Jonathan M. who says, “Blew my mind. If you missed it, you missed it.”
