*Each sip of Wednesday (2021) is reminiscent of a bourbon-filled cherry cordial bursting in your mouth, followed by a cup of bittersweet espresso. Waves of cinnamon swirl throughout, alongside subtle notes of vanilla.*

One of my best friends is obsessed with Barrel Aged Stouts. So when I told him we just received Cycle Brewing’s annual release of Wednesday, he couldn’t get his phone out fast enough!

I don’t blame him; Cycle’s decadent brews earn them accolades all across the country, including Thrillist’s 10 Best Breweries in Florida AND Gear Patrol’s 25 Best Breweries in America!

These fantastic Floridians aged this Imperial Stout in bourbon barrels for 2 years, then allowed it to rest on spicy cinnamon, velvety vanilla beans, juicy cherries, and roasty coffee. It’s got a rich, silky body that’s replete with nuanced flavor.

Grab a bottle of this 12% ABV behemoth, and show it off to your own cohort of connoisseurs! Just don’t hesitate — at Cycle, Wednesday comes but once a year.

Because Wednesday! Nose is cherry biscotti. Up front it’s a cinnamon bomb, which is nice, but it’s rather overwhelming. As it warms, the other flavors begin to pop; it’s a mix of coffee cake and marzipan. Barrel is subdued, but the viscosity is on point.

Cycle tried to do way too much and this is all over the place. For future reference, don’t mix cherry with dark roasted coffee beans.

Thick! It was tough for me to pull the notes of cherry but the coffee flavor was good and this was well boozy!

Heavy notes of chocolate and cinnamon to start, with a slight hint of cherry to finish. Good stout!

The cherry and the coffee are serious in this. Coffee is roasty in a way I don't like and the cherry is stronk, the cherry cordial vibes are nice but not a fan of this blend/combo.

maybe Wednesdays and I don’t mix well because it was too much for me ~ too strong with flavors and the flavors seemed to be fitting each other and a very strong cherry won
