A Note on This Beer
I think it's only a matter of time before the "West England IPA" catches on.
This ingenious style is a cross between a gushingly juicy New England-style hazy and a clean, pine-forward West Coast-style hopbomb!
In the wrong hands of course, merging these two could spell disaster. Thankfully, Austin Brothers Beer Co. takes the helm to create today’s West England IPA.
Even in beer-soaked Michigan, this family-run brewery slays the hop game. Co-owner and brewer Brant Austin honed his craft at California’s Ballast Point and Mother Earth. Both PureMichigan and BetterOnDraft.com call out Austin’s IPAs as a Must-Try!
To craft West England, Austin dry-hopped the brew with “ungodly amounts” of Amarillo, Galaxy, and Citra for New England-style tropical juiciness. Then, in West Coast-style fashion, they filtered it for clean crispness.
The flavorful results are remarkable. Each sip brims with bright, lush notes of apricot, passionfruit, and pineapple, finishing with a refreshing twist of lemon and whispers of grassy pine forest.
As @Mandy B. says, it “Tastes exactly like a blend of West Coast and NEIPA. Thumbs up!”
