A Note on This Beer
When I saw that Bozeman Brewing had a Flanders Style Red Ale loaded with real cherries and raspberries, I knew I had to get some. After all, they have the biggest Sour program in all of Montana!
This stuff earned a 92/100 score from The Beer Connoisseur, who said “the level of sourness is perfect, and the balance of sweetness and sourness adds to the complexity.” They even recommended that tart beer fans “seek out this special beer!”
So, I immediately called the crew at Bozeman, and pleaded for as much as they could possibly send. All they could spare was 312 bottles.
Only a few of you Sour fans out there will ever get a taste of Westland Whiskey Barrel Aged Metamorphic Flanders Style Red with Raspberry & Cherry. This brew is hyper-limited because it literally took years to create.
The blend of tart brews slumbered in a combination of barrels for an average of 42 months in Bozeman’s cellar! The brewers added different combinations of cherry and raspberry late in the process to get exactly the fruity flavors they wanted.
Then, they let the blend lounge for an additional 5 months in Whiskey barrels from Westland Distilling! These barrels from the Seattle-based World Whiskey Award-winners deepened the oaky flavors and added nuances of caramel.
If you want to be one of the lucky few to get a taste of this tart, fruity, incredibly complex brew, don’t wait another second.
