A Note on This Beer
A Wheatwine aged in Bourbon Barrels? With chocolate??
Heck yes!
Wheatwines are already on the rare side of the beer map, and the sheer dessert-like allure of today’s White Chocolate transforms it into a delicacy all its own.
To craft this impressive 14% ABV slice of white chocolate cake, The Bruery starts with what they call a “Summer Barleywine-style Ale, made with a wheat heavy grain base” for a full, soft mouthfeel.
Then, they age the brew in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels for 18 months alongside 9 lbs of cacao nibs per barrel and a heaping dose of vanilla beans!
Their time-consuming methods are well worth the wait — every sip of White Chocolate drinks as luscious and thick as a bourbon-glazed slice of rich white chocolate cake. It’s a mouthwatering marvel of milky cocoa and oaky caramel, wrapped in boozy warmth.
For pastry chasers who love their sweet treat served straight up, White Chocolate is it.
