About This Beer

We’re willing to bet you’ve never heard of a Bamberg-style Smoked Marzen.

No sweat – very few have! If you’ve had the privilege of waltzing through the olden biergartens of Germany, perhaps you’re familiar with this roasty, malty brew from the Brick & Feather crew.

This is one of the most classic styles around, dating back hundreds of years. Brewed with beechwood smoked German pale malts, and sprinkled with Hallertau Mittelfruh Hops, you’d be fit to pour this one right in your finest stein!

Tasting Notes

When you take that first sip, expect a wash of familiar Lager flavors – crisp, bready notes – with some unexpected pleasantness not in your everyday Marzen, such as pumpernickel and squash!

A unique tasting experience. Reminiscent of Belgian style beers, with a delightful smokey flavor complimentary to the crisp bready-ness expected of a lager. The darker color gives the impression of a heavier beer, but has a smooth, light, and refreshing palate with a comforting toasted finish.

I might be biased here as I don't really like a classic red ale style. This beer, in my opinion, has a classic red ale base with either a ton of liquid, or actual, smoke infused in. Honestly thought this was kinda gross.

I'm not a fan of smoked beers but I love Martzens so I just had to taste this. I can really appreciate all the work that went into this one which is why I gave it a 4.
