About This Beer
Fun fact: the caber toss, that Scottish event where large men in kilts hurl logs end over end, is not judged on distance. The score is based on how straight the log lands — if it comes down at an angle, you lose points.
Now, normally I wouldn’t consider myself burly enough to compete in something like that, but after a couple cans of Wood Aged Kilt Lifter from Pike Brewing, I might give it a shot.
This barrel-aged brew will make anyone feel a little stronger, and not just because it’s packin’ a 10% ABV.
Tasting Notes
The toffee and caramel notes in this Scotch Ale come beautifully balanced against flavors of bourbon and oak from a full year in locally-sourced whiskey barrels. A hint of roasty character comes through on the finish, and it’s so smooth you might think they’re lying about all that booze.
