About This Beer
River North combed their cask stock and blended double, triple, and QUADRUPLE barrel-aged Imperial Stouts. They describe the resulting beer as being “built layer by layer from the barrels that define our story,” and that sounds beautiful.
Tasting Notes
All that time in oak should translate into complex layers of woody spice, vanilla, and top-shelf spirits. Look forward to dark chocolate, toffee, and raisin notes swirling throughout, expertly masking that big, boozy ABV.

Very good stout that is slightly underwhelming for the price.
Exceptionally balanced flavors, alcohol is big but controlled. Thick and chocolatey up front with a lot of oak tannin and a little bit of hoppiness on the tail.
I am reminded of a good blended whisky; it can be very pleasant and enjoyable, and it is never going to have the daringness of a single-malt.
