About This Beer
For those who may not be familiar, a Biere de Coupage is created by blending older and younger beers together. For their iteration, the crew at Jester King took one of their celebrated SPON beers (itself blended from multiple batches going back several years) and then cut it with a young, vibrant, dry-hopped Farmhouse Ale. Then they bottle conditioned the blended brew for another year!
Tasting Notes
The older beer adds rich complexity with notes of grassy funk and bright pops of lemon grass. The young beer provides a lively body and bright, sunny notes of lemon zest and pops of pineapple and passionfruit. This is a prime example of Jester King’s skills, and one taste will reveal exactly why the folks at JK are considered masters of spontaneous fermentation.
