Between the ages of 7 and 12, I ate practically nothing but peanut butter.

Peanut butter sandwiches, peanut butter crackers, peanut butter toast, and if I could get my hands on any kind of chocolate, you better believe I was smearing some peanut butter on it and stuffing my face. 

I’ve expanded my diet a little since then, but I still reach for the peanut butter jar almost every day.

So, of course, I love Big Gruesome Peanut Butter Stout from Pennsylvania’s Spring House. Their award-winning Imperial Stouts are legendary in PA, and the brewery is so beloved in Lancaster that they’ve opened a second location and a kick-ass arcade!

And for today’s brew, they went absolutely bonkers with the peanut butter. If you love that chewy richness as much as I do, you gotta try this stuff. 

It’s like a handful of mini Reese’s but better because it comes with an 8.3% ABV. Take a sip, and it’ll transport you right back to those long lost days of Wonder Bread and Skippy — but with the addition of luscious chocolate!

The World Beer Cup winners at Spring House didn’t just add a little peanut butter, they crammed it in every chance they got! 

When they made the mash with two types of Chocolate Malt and real cocoa nibs, they added peanut butter. Then, while they boiled it all up, more peanut butter. And when they were fermenting that big ABV, still more peanut butter! Then they cranked it up even further by aging on whole vanilla beans, another heap of raw cocoa nibs, and (spoiler alert) another dose of peanut butter!

Man, just writing all that out gave me cravings. No wonder this stuff is rated 4.10 on UT! 

If you’re as big of a peanut butter junky as I am, grab a few cans of today’s brew and get the flavor you love. And just like those sandwiches when you were a kid, this stuff is even better if you split it in half and share it with your best pal.
