About This Beer
The brewers started with their beloved Buckley base Stout, then aged it in Laird’s Apple Brandy barrels for a full 18 months. Finally, they conditioned the brew on vanilla, maple syrup, and coffee from their pals at Tugboat.
Tasting Notes
Transient’s base Stout is beloved among aficionados for a reason. And that reason is massive notes of chocolate, toffee, and candied date! All that time on pomme-soaked oak gave it fruity nuances and hints of toffee-apple. The beans add a roasty backbone that balances the sweetness of the brew, while maple and vanilla provide a thick body and a long, smooth finish.

Sweet maple and vanilla aroma. It appears to pick up the “spiciness” from the brandy barrels, coffee is understated. Sweet maple finish with a bit of a from the 14.5%. Only marked down due to being a bit too sweet for me.

Great chocolate scent that is matched by the chocolate flavor. Coffee notes blended in with a whiff of vanilla and maple syrup that balance well to not be too sweet.
