About This Beer
After one sip of Chopping Wood - Czech Style Pilsner, I can practically feel the breeze blowing across Prague’s famous Charles Bridge. To make it taste this authentic, the crew at Montana’s Mountains Walking pulled out all the stops! They used real Bohemian floor-malted Pilsner Malt, and 100% Czech Saaz Hops, so it really does taste like a trip to the Czech Republic.
Tasting Notes
Classic notes of bread and biscuit are highlighted by touches of caramel and a bit of honey. Czech Hops add lingering grassy and floral notes, just like you’d find in a Bohemian beer hall!

Subtle bready nose. Pours clear straw w/robust head. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. A bit of pine & subtle grapefruit on palate. Just a tinge of hoppy bitterness at the finish.

Another true-to-style Pilsner from Mountains Walking, this one is decidedly more bitter than their German-style version (as it should be). But the bite isn’t painful, and it’s green, grassy, and very Czech.

Really nice example of the style with Saaz Hops. Grainy and smooth with a nice earthy/grassy hop character to balance. Light-medium bodied, crisp and clean ! Solid !

Pretty decent little Pilsner. Extremely sharp flavor, at least for what there is of it. It’s a tad indistinguishable from other Pilsners, but very crisp and clean and easily-enjoyable to drink for that reason. Like a craft PBR.
