Gustav Dose, the founder of Mountains Walking, isn’t your typical American craft brewer. He’s half German and half Japanese, and grew up moving between the U.S., Japan, and Taiwan. Now raising a family in Bozeman, MT, his heritage and upbringing still inform everything he does as a brewer. At Mountains Walking you’ll find classic European styles, like the Lagers in the brewery’s Chopping Wood series. You’ll also find brews like Daruma, an American IPA brewed with Hokkaido rice in a nod to Dose’s time in Japan.
