About This Beer

This is a totally true to form Doppelbock brewed with exacting commitment to detail. The brewers used 100% German Malts, Spalt Spalter Hops, and a time consuming decoction mash process for a completely authentic experience. Those bold, malty flavors of raisin, caramel, and bread crust are rich enough to sip fireside!

But, in traditional style, the brewers also cold conditioned this Lager for a full two months, so the body is crisp, clean, and oh-so chuggable! So if you’re working up a sweat with some early season spring cleaning, you can count on this brew to quench your thirst.

Tasting Notes

Look for bold, malty flavors of raisin, caramel, and bread crust that are rich enough to sip fireside! Let a drop linger, and you might detect notes of toffee and even a hint of brown sugar.

Cracked open a can each with a friend and we both immediately pulled out our phones to try to find more. Extremely drinkable with tons of dark, bready flavor, and yet still coming in at a generous 8.4%. As my first Bock/Doppelbock, I'm blown away at how good it is

Aroma of sweet, roasted malt along with notes of bread and caramel. Sweetness up front in taste to accompany caramel, fig, raisin, and toffee notes. Finishes a bit dry. Would taste great around a Fall campfire.

Mmmm...delicious. Smooth, caramel-ish, malty. And drinks way lighter than 8%. I dig it.

Very Bready, which bodes well to the style. Its not my style but I can see how others would really enjoy it.

Very good. Dry for a dopplebock, not overly malty.

Smooth. Nice clean, malty caramel notes. I wish it had just a little more malty character. Does not taste the strength. Very nice!

Hard to find the alcohol in this 8+% brew. It’s a little too sweet for my palate, even for a doppelbock. I got a second can, so I’ll try to sit on it and hopefully it mellows out some.

Liked the second can a lot more than the first. A little malt, lots of sweet toffee, caramel, fig flavor. As others have mentioned, doesn’t taste as boozy as it is.
