A Note on This Beer
Snowy glass, soft head /
Tingling white grape notes on tongue /
I grab another beer
Ah man, this snowy Rice IPA has me waxing poetic!!
In Japanese folklore, the test of the snow spirit Yuki Onna brings great reward at a great risk; but today’s Yuki Onna Snowy IPA comes with no risk attached! Just delicious, hoppy bliss.
And, instead of eerie snow ghosts, the brew comes from New Hokkaido, the new phantom brewery from the award-winners at Mountains Walking. This hopbomb adds an innovative element to the master brew crew’s award winning skills.
By brewing with 50% oats, rice, and barley sourced straight from Hokkaido, Japan, the beer has a lip-smacking, crisp element unique to the style!
White grape, passionfruit, and pineapple notes present themselves through the bright body. These notes come from a “mysterious blend of hops” New Hokkaido obtained from the far reaches of the southern hemisphere. By dry hopping the brew, flavors and aromas come through more fresh and clear than a blanket of morning snow.
With just a small batch of beer available to grab, you’ll have to brave the storm and be ahead of the pack to get your hands on a can of this new, special brew!
New Hokkaido is the brainchild of Gustav Gentaro Dose, founder of Mountains Walking, who wanted to intertwine his Japanese roots with Montana’s nature!
