A Note on This Beer
We’ve indulged in Braxton Brewing’s incredibly boozy, treat-inspired Dark Charge Imperial Stouts a few times over the years. But, today marks the very first time we’ve gotten our hands on their German Chocolate rendition!
Even more astonishing — aside from the taproom, we’re the only place to find this decadent cacao nib, coconut, and vanilla-brewed sipper.
And we mean decadent. In addition to using enough pastry ingredients to make actual bakers envious, the Braxton crew aged the brew in Bourbon barrels for additional notes of oaky molasses and deepened vanilla. Then, they finished it off with a stroke of almond extract to invoke the slight nuttiness that German chocolate cake is known for.
Plus, it all clocks in at a staggering 11.34% ABV!
It’s the kind of beer that’s made for after-dinner indulgence, preferably next to a fireplace or campfire. Though, with the level of boozy warmth emanating from each sip, you may not even need to build a fire!
Fun fact: Braxton is the most Googled brewery in Kentucky! They also won Brewbound’s prestigious Rising Star Award.
