If we had to describe Braxton’s taproom in one word — with its plywood floors, cozy decor, and lines of locals waiting for a pint — we’d call it a “garage.” And the brewers would probably smile because, for these Covington locals, that’s where it all began. See, head brewer Evan Rouse discovered his passion for good beer at a young age, way back in 2012. After stopping at a brewery on the way to drop off his brother at college, Evan bought a home brew kit and brewed his first batch of beer in his dad’s garage. Now, thanks to offerings like Storm Cream Ale, Tropic Flare New England IPA, and Revamp IPA, Evan and the Braxton team have helped put Covington on the craft beer map. And their taproom, affectionately dubbed “The Garage” as a tribute to their roots, has grown into a local watering hole that’s usually stuffed to the gills with fans.
