About This Beer
When I’m in a fedora-wearing, film noir watching mood, nothing tops off the black and white vibe like the Negroni’s complex, whiskey cousin: the Boulevardier.
But when my bar cart runs dry, the beer fridge never lets me down — especially when it’s stocked with Day’s End. The craft-ologists at Allagash laced their Red Ale with aromatic accoutrements akin to the classic cocktail, and then aged it in bourbon barrels!
Tasting Notes
The herbaceous adjuncts creep between the cracks of the barrel, juxtaposing their vinous quality with notes of caramelized oak, mellow vanilla, and a dash of Kentucky’s finest. Your taste buds may think they’ve had a nightcap as the slight bite of bourbon lingers like the final, liquor-tinged sip from a single melted ice cube.
