About This Brewery
Way back in 1995, Rob Tod set up shop in Portland, Maine, and started brewing a beer based on a classic Belgian Wit. He called the beer White, and named his brewery Allagash.
More than 25 years later, Allagash White is still the brewery’s #1 Best Seller. All of Allagash’s Belgian-inspired brews attract craft beer lovers, from their Nancy American Wild Ale with Cherries to their Odyssey Dark Strong Ale.
Everything Allagash makes is bottle conditioned in the traditional style. They were also the first brewery in the United States to brew spontaneously fermented Wild Ales using a coolship to cool their wort.
Hype: Allagash founder Rob Tod received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits professional in 2019.
