A Note on This Beer
I begged and pleaded with River North Brewery to hook us up with more of today’s 15.1% ABV Decennial Father Time Old Ale. And you know what they gave me?
12 Cases! That’s it! Just 144 bottles for the whole Tavour community!
And that won’t be nearly enough to satisfy everyone. Last time we managed to snag a tiny stash of this sinfully smooth boozebomb, you guys rated it an astonishing 4.40 out of 5 on Tavour!
If you got EXTREMELY lucky last time around, you might have a bottle or two hidden away. After all, River North designed this Bourbon Barrel-Aged treat to be cellared for up to 10 years!
Of course, it’s much more likely that you’re one of the many folks who have never managed to snag Decennial Father Time. And if that’s the case, don’t let it slip through your fingers again.
In fact, you might want to grab two. That way, you can cellar one away for a special occasion — like the 2028 Olympics, because you can actually keep it for that long! And it will get smoother, richer, and more complex with each passing day.
And you can open the other bottle now and treat yourself to something special! You’ll probably wind up like the fans on UT saying things like:
“Wow, sticky sweetness. Big Malt Monster!” – Cory F.
“Absolutely phenomenal beer. Sweet notes throughout. I wish I had more.” – Chris H.
“Dear. God. YUM!” – Michael M.
If you’re like our friends above and don’t want to wait 10 years, open a bottle and pour it into a wide-bodied glass to let the Ale open up. Inhale deeply for pungent aromas of baked apples and brandy. Let a sip sit on your tongue, and flavors of flambéed raisins and caramel confit flood the palate. On the finish, savor a final note of rich molasses.
If you cellar it, it’ll just get better! But no matter what, you better act fast. Because while this brew will improve for years in storage, it won’t last long on Tavour.
Rated 4.40 on Tavour, 4.24 on Untappd
