A Note on This Beer
“A really tasty and full-bodied Stout. Yum!” -@Nicole G
“Dark chocolate, not sweet, what’s not to like!?” -@John C
“Like straight chocolate cold-brew coffee!” -@Trevor D
Some of you already know what these folks are so excited about because you’ve been lucky enough to try Expel Imperial Stout from Anchorage Brewing. And judging by the 4.23 Tavour rating and deluge of emails, you’re ready for more.
That’s why we delved into our cellar and pulled out our super secret stash from this 4.18 BA-rated brewery!
We were going to save for our next holiday party, but you guys keep insisting we give you another shot at it. If you weren’t lucky enough to snag a can last time around, here’s what you missed.
Imagine melting a few tons of artisan dark chocolate, mixing it into a swimming pool of small-batch, cold-brew coffee, and then cannonballing right into the middle of it. That’s what every sip of Expel tastes like. Bold, ludicrously flavorful, and so ultra-smooth you won’t believe it’s actually 9% ABV!
Even if Stout isn’t your usual style of choice, you might want to give this one a try. Like @Jon O on Untappd who said “I typically avoid dark beers because they're mostly disappointing. What an exception! Crazy smooth without the bitterness.”
With flavors this big, it’s no wonder Alaskan craft fiends are head-over-heels for Expel. If you want a taste of what’s got them so excited, we’ve got the hook-up right here.
