About This Beer
Long time beer geeks will see the initials “ESB” and recognize them immediately. It stands for Extra Special Bitter — a type of English Pale Ale known for being wonderfully rich in malt flavor. This time, though, “ESB” stands for Extra StormBreaker, from Oregon’s famous StormBreaker Brewing.
This copper-red concoction leans heavily on the floral and fruity flavors of Golding, Sterling, and Fuggle Hops atop a Crisp Maris Otter Malt base. A smooth foundation of soft, caramel-drizzled biscuit flavor carries blissful notes of berries and ripe plums in every sip.
Tasting Notes
Flavors of toasted nuts, lavish caramel, and organic honey course through every delectable sip. A gentle, yet refreshing hop bite balances the malts’ dreamy, bready, mildly-spicy notes.

Drinkable, smooth, balanced and reasonably tasty. Biscuit and caramel mslts, some coppery notes, a mild dry hippiness, and some mild nutty notes. It's solid, not earth shattering but super easy to drink. No complaints.

Malty, rich amber aroma. Lots of bready depth with hint of rye spice, lots of malt, and a decent amount of hoppy bitterness. Quick, slightly dry finish.

One of my favorites so far. Nice English maltiness, but there's enough of hops to keep you into the next sip.

a bit hoppy for EsB

This is pretty good. Little hoppy, little malty, but still a touch sweet. I seem to have fairly decent luck with specifically *English* Pale Ales. Maybe the Brits know what’s up.
