About This Beer
Transient Artisan Ales embraced the special regional flavors of the Midwest by crafting an Imperial Cream Stout with black walnuts — the only completely wild-harvested tree nut in the US. Then they conditioned it in Blis maple syrup bourbon barrels with vanilla, cinnamon, and lactose, arriving at a robust brew.
Tasting Notes
Cinnamon leads the nose, supported by vanilla and cocoa. Black walnut leaves its stamp on the roasty malt by enriching it with a complex, earthy nuttiness and bittersweet tannins. Maple lifts and sweetens the brew with smoky caramel tones.
F— Walnut is smooth and pleasantly light on the palate, going out with a slight booziness accented by black walnut’s herbal tones and blooming cinnamon.
