About This Beer
To create this ode to Oregon malt, The Ale Apothecary worked with their friends at Mecca Grade Estate Malt, combining four different grains from their family farm into one intricately nuanced base brew. Then they open fermented the brew with wild yeast, and conditioned it in locally-sourced fresh Pinot Noir barrels with cherries, currants, and rosehips.
Tasting Notes
The carefully selected adjuncts remain subtle in this tart brew, allowing the malts to shine! Notes of rye bread and wildflower honey permeate every sip, while subtle funk and soft florals hover just beneath the surface. The delicate fruit flavors in this tangy Ale seem to accentuate vinous notes from the barrels, creating a finish similar to a delicate red wine.

Different. Tart and a bit sour, this was not my favorite.
