A Note on This Beer

To make Figue Fumêe, the brewers blended two Wild Red Ales, both aged for 8 months in Whiskey Barrels. Then, they took some locally-sourced figs, hot smoked them on fig tree wood, and added ‘em to the blend before aging some more. Finally, came the pièce de résistance: bottle conditioning with real Vermont Maple Syrup!
With every sip, you get a tart, warming mouthful of smoked figgy pudding lightly drizzled in maple syrup sweetness. It’s an experience that @Phil B. on Untappd admires as “So dang complex, unlike anything I’ve ever tried before.”
