About This Beer
When The Ale Apothecary got together with their friends at Old Standby to craft this delicate and delicious brew to raise money benefitting a local area homeless shelter, they went old school — skipping hops in favor of another traditional brewing herb: heather.
The team began by fermenting a Belgian-style Saison with wild yeast in stainless steel tanks. Then they aged it in oak barrels with heather flowers. Finally, they naturally can conditioned it with raw cane sugar for a soft effervescence.
Tasting Notes
Each light quaff invites you in with hay and chamomile aromas. The sip comes in tart, accented by barnyard funk and earthy wildflowers. Lemony zest mingles with subtle oaky barrel tones before the taste finishes with a crisp snap.
