About This Beer
Junkyard brewed this decadent Imperial Stout with roasted barley for a robust, belly warming base. Then they conditioned it with rich cocoa nibs, toasted black walnuts, and 60 lbs per batch of real jumbo marshmallows!
Tasting Notes
Every sip is like riding the rapids of a coursing cocoa river on a raft made of marshmallow! Chocolatey currents crash against toasty black walnuts splashing you with a velvety, milkshake spray!
You might just find yourself thinking you’re sipping down thick, silky scoops of melted Rocky Road.

Super heavy chocolate flavor. Very silky. Loved every sip.

Very intense dark flavors and heavily roasted malt aromas. Initially the flavors that come to mind are very toasted graham crackers and blackstrap molasses. Cocoa nibs follow immediately afterwards. The flavors stay for a pleasantly appropriate amount of time. Not too much marshmallow in this, but it is a touch creamy.

A little nutty, marshmallow is subtle. It’s pretty sweet which giving the size of the can makes drinking it a little daunting. But the flavor is rich and not like anything I’ve ever had so I’d definitely recommend it to any stout fan.

Smells exactly like rocky road ice cream. Tastes slightly boozy up front, followed by strong marshmallow and chocolate flavor, and just a tiny bit of vanilla mixed in. Seriously tasty

Wish it was barrel aged!

This was definitely a tasty drink. For some reason it just didn’t stand out to me. Maybe it’s because I’m not a huge consumer of rocky road ice cream. This is a really good stout and with the size of the can and the ABV it will really leave you satisfied, but I’m unsure if I will reorder.

Good balance of flavors. A touch bitter for my taste though. Only reason I didn't rate higher

Nice combination of sweetness from the marshmallow with the bitterness of the black walnut. The cocoa nibs are not very noticeable.

Look: Dark brown, almost black. Foamy brown two finger head that slowly disappeared but hung onto the side of the glass. Smell: Big chocolate marshmallow ice cream up front, followed by walnut and boozy hints. Feel: Medium to full bodied feel, slight carbonation tickle. Taste: Definitely tastes like an imperial, but you get a nice mixture of walnut and light chocolate marshmallow ice cream. The chocolate taste is more like cocoa nibs and less like sweet milk chocolate that comes through in the smell. Like a boozy rocky road sundae. As it warms the flavors are even nicer and it tastes more and more like a sundae! Bren is a HUGE chocolate marshmallow ice cream fan so this was her pick. If you like imperial dessert beers this one is definitely worth trying. We were hesitant because all of the Junkyard brews we have had have been a bit musty tasting. This one is a pleasant surprise! I think we need to go finish this with some chocolate brownies... Cheers!

Fantastic! This is one of my favorites, I grab a can or 2 every time it comes up. It's a strong one, but super smooth to drink.

For me this is a "pastry" stout done right. It tastes like beer and not just a sugary diabetes bomb. It comes off like a walnut fudge brownie but at the same time the base imperial stout has a nice roasty back bone which balances the sweetness. The marshmallow flavour is minimal and is really just a back note. Over all really well balanced.

My favorite chocolate stout out of all the ones I sampled last month, smooth, and super dark, but still had a complex flavor. One 100% buy this one again

So, so close. But just not quite a great beer. Needed some kind of flavor boost; some kind of kick to get it over the weak edge

Like drinking boozy molten marshmallows.

Roasted barley and cocoa nibs aroma, rich mouthfeel, cocoa nibs & toasted black walnuts taste with sweet & creamy marshmallow notes, the 12% ABV is apparent throughout, tastes like an adult version of Rocky Road Ice Cream.
