About This Beer
When Wise Man Brewing won a GABF Gold Medal for Outraged Daughters, they showed the world that the Irish Red Ale style is a unicorn worth seeking out. Using “the perfect amount of roasted barley,” the brewers beautifully captured the malty complexity of a true-to-style Irish Red, a style itself shrouded in mystery. But what better way to acquaint (or reacquaint) yourself with enigmatic style than with a brew that ranks amongst the best examples in the world?
Tasting Notes
Aromas of melty caramel, brittle toffee, and toasted biscuit waft out of every pour. The taste follows, with just a whisper of stone fruit and light blackberry throughout, all leading to a dry, quaffable finish.

Fantastic Irish Red Ale!!! Love the nose on this thing, such a great reminder for why I love this style. Way to keep the malt at the forefront and not bog down the flavors and aromas with too much hop presence. Crisp and refreshing finish. Need a sixer of this!

Deliciously roasty and perfect for sipping, or just crushing the whole thing. Great Irish Red that I’ve been missing.

the smooth caramel finish balance with the exact correct amount of hops makes this a beer that's incredibly versatile. i've enjoyed drinking this both as an after-dinner beverage and as a before dinner cocktail pairing.

Pretty good Irish Red. It’s nicely malty but maybe it could be smoother? I know this isn’t very helpful but there was nothing bad about this beer. At the same time, for me, it was missing something for me to put it in the “great” category.

Copper-red color, caramel aroma and subtle hint of fruit, roasted barley and toffee tastes with biscuit note, and dry finish.

Ironically the can had a hard trip (“...bruised body...”). Fortunately, still drinkable. Caramel colored pour. Loads of toffee and biscuity aroma on the nose. Sweet and malty on the tongue with just a hint of hop bite on the finish. Sláinte!

This dry red ale is well balanced with proper acidity. The malt really shine through even thou it’s very dry. A slight bitterness is perceptible while taking away nothing from the malt. A perfect red.
