A Note on This Beer

The Ancient Egyptians were the first folks to ever enjoy marshmallows, although only royalty got to chomp down on the gooey treat. On the flip side, beer was the staple drink of commoners. Many were even paid in suds!

We’re more sorted out these days — not only do we get paid real money, but beer and marshmallows are for everyone! Even better, modern brewers like the masterminds at Pipeworks are putting them together for creamy, delicious opulence! Modern days: 1, Ancient Egypt: 0.

Of course, you probably wouldn’t complain if you did get paid in today’s marshmallow-infused S’more Money S’more Problems. King Tut himself would be impressed with all the riches stacked in this 10.5% ABV dark nectar!

The Pipeworks crew stuffed this Imperial Stout with thick, chewy decadence from “copious amounts” of chocolate malts and crushed graham crackers. Then, in addition to natural marshmallow flavor, they swirled in lactose, cinnamon, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans for an ultra-velvety take on the popular campfire treat.

And, unlike those Ancient Egyptian workers and pharaohs, you don’t have to go building any pyramids to taste this ooey-gooey brew. Just snag your cans now, and we’ll deliver it straight to your doorstep. Modern days: 2, Ancient Egypt: 0.

*Pipeworks is Thrillist’s Best Brewery in Chicago and one of Beer & Brewing’s Breakout Breweries.

Nice and boozy. Got all the promised flavors. Perfect once it warmed up a bit.

The taste just simply doesn’t replicate how the beer looks in the image. Unfortunately, I don’t want s‘more.

Definitely smells of graham cracker and a little chocolate. Marshmallow definitely comes through.

The best s’more stout I’ve ever had. Every flavor comes through, without any cloying sweetness. Perfectly captures the essence of a s’more while still being a beer, since, well, that’s what it is.

It's a great stout. I don't get s'mores flavor tho. Definitely get the cacao nibs, with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. Super solid, just isn't named appropriately imo.

4 of the name and can design. 3 for the flavor. It was too thick and flavor could have been more graham cracker in my opinion.

It’s big and boozy. Up front is a punch in the mouth from the booze and then dark chocolate. Somewhere in the middle is some cinnamon then there is a super long and delicious marshmallow finish. If the whole beer tasted like the finish it would be much better.

Not a pastry stout, slightly astringent. Dark chocolate and marshmallow

Pretty much a s’more in a can with a bit of a boozy kick. Delicious.

Excellent stout, but it is very rich. Sipping is good, but would be best to share with others or get in a smaller size can.

Honestly the picture looks way better then it was. Just bitter and dry. I was hoping for a creamy feel and taste.

A lot of bitterness from the grain and chocolate. Perhaps too much ABV for the flavors. Like a steel toed boot of s’more-ish flavors.

Graham cracker and chocolate, probably one of the best varieties I’ve had of the s’mores beers

The moment I poured it all I could smell/taste was DARK rich tart cherries. Which is odd since it wasn’t at all apart of the flavor profile. Not upset at it.

Very good, all the adjuncts play well nicely and nothing overpowers the tongue. A bit of booziness, but honestly expected more at 10.5%.

Not my thing, though to be fair I don't generally like adjuncts in my stouts. Love pipeworks though.

Bursted out of the can to greet me with sticky sweet chocolate goodness. I did not notice the marshmallow and gram cracker.

It went down like a thick cold Monin Toasted Marshmallow flavored syrup. Good, but could get through whole thing. Although, last 1/4 I mixed with coffee. Interestingly better.

On first thought after cracking this can, I got a sweet aroma of marshmallows. I soon poured this stout and was revealed a thick, and I mean thick, sweet, sticky treat of a beer. Too sweet but a good one to try and sip on.
