A Note on This Beer

Few places on Earth are like The Ale Apothecary.

Bloomberg called this Oregon crew the Most Exciting Brewery in the Pacific Northwest because of their natural ingredients and creative brewing methods. And, they only craft in highly limited batches!

Getting a sip is a bucket list goal for craft fans across the country, but you have the chance to cross that off right now with today’s Sauvie!

Named after Sauvie Island in the Columbia River and aged in Oregon wine barrels, this brew offers a true experience of the Pacific Northwest.

Hand-harvested Crystal Hops from the island give Sauvie deep aromas of dew-tipped trees and fresh earth. Joined with The Ale Apothecary’s house yeast and doses of Mecca Grade Vanora and Rye malts, this brew is both approachable and complex!

Peachy tartness rises up with woody spice, backed with whispers of grape tannins. The Pacific Northwest sure tastes exquisite.

Just move fast if you want to seize this opportunity — we only have 179 bottles to go around!

Rated 4.24 on Untappd!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. The Ale Apothecary is certified independent by the Brewers Association

A touch tart and “puckery”. I am typically a sour/wild ale fan but this was missing something to help make it a more balanced brew.

This one is not my favorite. Red wine, but flavors are fighting each other.

This is a tasty dry and tart wild ale. It has a nice light rustic and vinous body and a pretty good, but a little overly herbal, hoppy flavor with a nice dry funky finish.

A perfect beer, the craftsmanship is self evident.

A great sour, the smell is intense apricot, white wine, wood and hay. Definitely tart, a lot of white wine, grapes, a bit of yeast but it turns sweeter at the end. It's pretty light, dry, strangely spicy and sparkling.
