A Note on This Beer

Thanks to popular demand, we got an extremely limited batch of Snowed In Vanilla (2021) from Copper Kettle Brewing! We’ve shared this treat twice before, and each time, you demolished every last drop to the tune of 4+ Tavour ratings!

Here’s the skinny on today’s Barrel Aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout:

  • After spending four months in freshly emptied Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrels, it overflows with indulgent layers of whiskey spice and oaky vanilla.
  • The brewers aged it on exotic Tahitian vanilla beans for additional waves of subtle sweetness.
  • Every sip is coated in rich cocoa, brown sugar, and molasses, with a finish as smooth and creamy as handmade marshmallows.
  • Its tremendous 12.7% ABV is barely noticeable until the end of your sip, when you get that warm, glowing feeling underneath your rib cage.
  • It comes in a hefty 19.2oz can, so you can click “play” on another Netflix episode while bathing in its bourbon-laced decadence!

Whether you decide to cellar yours for later and watch the flavors evolve, or delve in immediately, is up to you.

Just remember — Copper Kettle only brewed 285 cases, and we snagged the only ones leaving Colorado.

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Not nearly enough vanilla or barrel as I was hoping, either in the aromas or taste. Decent body. ABV pretty subtle in the taste/mouthfeel.

You can definitely taste the bourbon notes, but not much of anything else. Quite bitter.

I taste rubbing alcohol and generic Guinness. Totally not worth the money but better than a Natural Ice.

Another pretty good stout from Copper Kettle. Vanilla was much more prevalent here than cherry was in my previous purchase. Enjoyed it immensely while sitting poolside.

Very bourbon tasting. I wish it had more vanilla as I can't taste any sweetness.

Similar to 2018 Bourbon County Vanilla by Goose Island but one is leagues ahead and it wasn't this one. Maybe in 3 years when I drink this again it'll be better.

Weak, metallicy beer - no bourbon, off vanilla, meh. 3 is generous.

Had the 2020 version and really enjoyed it. Not the case with 2021. Maybe I received a bad can.

Copper Kettle and Humble Forager are now my favorite winter breweries! They just remind me of sitting by a bonfire on a cool fall/winter night or a snowy night on the cabin porch.

Rather disappointed with this one. Vanilla comes off metallic and the stout is thin and not very complex.

More oatmeal than anything. Not as thick as you’d hope for with a beer like this
