A Note on This Beer
Every cherry-filled sip of this Flanders Red Ale-inspired brew inundates the palate with bright cherry and rich vanilla, all swimming through layers of funky complexity.
Subtle notes of oak and plum peek from beneath the comforter-soft body of this multifaceted brew, inviting careful contemplation of its dark, stone-fruit depths.
In other words, this is not a beer to rush through, it’s a bottle to be savored. The brewers certainly weren’t in a hurry when they made it — they took over three years to complete this brew, blending delicate Ales from barrels aged 8, 18, and 26 months.
Then, they rested the blend on 4 lbs of organic cherries per gallon of beer for over 4 months, allowing the brew to soak up every bit of fruity flavor. Finally, the brewers added a heaping pile of organic Madagascar vanilla beans, giving the brew a rich, silky finish.
While the brewers at Odd Breed may have taken their time creating this brew, Sour Ale fans certainly won’t take their time snapping up our tiny stash of less than 20 cases!
