About This Beer
Falling Knife brewed Tree of Woe in celebration of its second anniversary! They aged their fan-favorite Scotch Stout for more than a year in bourbon barrels that were then used for maple syrup for massive, smoky-sweet flavors.
Tasting Notes
Every maple-soaked sip swirls with ribbons of caramel and oak notes before its dry finish. And that all comes packed with a hard-to-detect 13.4% ABV!

this is simply awesome. maple barrel aged ads so much complexity. not to sweet with a touch of bourbon barrel aged. just wish I had gotten a second bottle.

Should've left this one in the fridge for a few years to mellow out the booziness. It is extremely boozy for 14%. I was skeptical of the maple, but it is balanced perfectly, not overwhelming.

I haven't had many wee heavys so I may just not be fond of the style, but this felt like it really just had very evident alcohol and maple/caramel and not much else.

Tasty maple notes on a good scotch ale. Light caramel undertones help support the overall brew.
