A Note on This Beer
Texas’ famed Jester King has released a Pale Lager in cans! And we managed to scoop up a little stash so all you Lager Lovers can get a sip.
Trust me, you DO want a sip of Unfiltered Pilsner. Because, as I’ve said many times before, to find out how good a brewery really is, you’ve got to try their Lager. When you have an opportunity to taste a crisp, clean sip from one of Paste Mag’s Top 5 Most Important Breweries of the 2010s, you jump on it!
JK may be best known for their Wild and Sour beers, but today’s treat proves they know their way around clean beer styles, too.
To create it, they used Hill Country well water, local Pilsner malt, and classic Mittelfruh Hops. Then, they added a classic German Pilsner yeast and cold-conditioned the brew for 6 weeks.
The result is clean and crisp with bright floral and citrus notes, perched atop a bread crust-flavored body. It’s bolder than the average Pilsner, but it’s just as easy-drinking and refreshing.
