“You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.”

These are the words of the famous guitarist, Frank Zappa. He was an extremely talented musician, a pioneer of self-expression, and, apparently, really into beer.

In fact, the main act in today’s beer is named after him!

And that beer is Zappa Powered Jetpack Hazy DIPA from the GABF Award-winning brewers at San Francisco’s Barebottle. These guys are masters of hops, and they jam-packed today’s single-hop Hazy with a stellar 7lbs per barrel of dankedy-dank Zappa Hops. 

Grab a sip of this 8.7% ABV hop-blasted Jetpack, and you’ll feel as freaky far-out as Mr. Zappa himself! You might even feel the urge to name your kids Dweezil and Moon Unit (which Frank actually did. Seriously, you can look it up).

Upon entry, it’s a full-throttle ride of piney citrus fueled by a pour of golden haze. Aromas of apricot and a touch of pepper burst forth, followed by tropical flavors of drippy mango and zesty lime washing over the palate. Finally, the pillowy-soft mouthfeel carries on with fresh-squeezed orange juice before landing with a resinous finish.

Zappa Powered Jetpack is the 2nd ever release in Barebottles’ Jetpack juicebomb series, the fans are already all over it, giving it an early 4.11 rating on Untappd. But you can’t find this hazebomb anywhere outside of California!

As one of Eater SF’s Essential Breweries of San Francisco, Barebottle’s self-expressive Bay Area fans are already gobbling up as much of this Zappa-happy Hazy as they can.
