They’re all about brewing “beer for interesting times,” and every can — like Astronaut Eye Scream and Fruit Slave Double New England IPA — comes adorned with the kind of cartoon art you’d see on the cover of an issue of High Times from the 70s. And even though Illuminated is one of the most underground breweries in Chicago (as of 2020, they don’t even have a taproom!) that doesn’t stop their fans from hounding the brewers on where to find their juicy, pop-culture-themed beers, like Brony IPA and Spoonful of Sugar New England Style IPA.
